Winter - A Time for Creativity
Taking nature photos during the winter months can be challenging. There was no snow this year, only a short-lived ice storm. There is no wildlife to speak of, and everything looks dead. So, instead of giving up, it is an excellent time to think creatively and play with black and white and muted colors.

…so I guess photographer Chase Jarvis was correct when he said, “the best camera is the one that’s with you.”
A Neighborhood in Winter
Growing up, it never snowed where I lived. Instead, every few years it would sleet, and that was as good as snow to us. Seeing the sleet covering the ground yesterday morning brought back old memories.
