Shakespeare in Love

On March 8, 2025, Wylie High School Theatre had their one and only public performance of Shakespeare in Love, their chosen stage play for UIL (University Interscholastic League) competition. Since this is a competition, there are rules, some of them being that the cast and crew have 7 minutes to set the stage, 40 minutes to perform, and then 7 minutes to strike. They will be disqualified if they exceed any of these time limits.

The Performance

Based on the Academy Award-winning movie, Shakespeare in Love is a play that reimagines the creative process of a young William Shakespeare, exploring his inspiration and romantic entanglement as he writes "Romeo and Juliet." This performance is further adapted to fit the allotted time and number of cast.
